Memorial Day

For most people, Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial start of summer. Families gather together for picnics and the first weekend at the lake house. If you’re like a lot of families you might spend Sunday outside, listening to music, watching parades and visiting friends and family. With all the great things of the weekend going on, it’s easy to forget what Memorial Day is really about. It is a day meant to remember those in our armed services who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

Memorial Day at Air Assault

Memorial Day is an American holiday observed on the last Monday of May. This holiday was originally known as Decoration Day. It’s origin stemming from the years following the Civil War and developed into an Official Federal Holiday in 1971.  Today Memorial Day honors both the men and women who died while serving our country in the U.S. military. Many families and Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries, memorials, parades and family gatherings.

Air Assault will be closed on Monday March 25th for Memorial Day. On this day we honor the fallen men and women of our country’s military. Please join us by taking a moment today to remember those who served, fought, and died for their country.
